Small Things of Cheer - Update

A while ago, I saw something that was amusing and cheerful and wrote about it in this post. Since then, I have started to become slightly addicted to collecting Hanging Crystals. I only have three at the moment, but this is subject to increase without notice. There are, therefore, many rainbows bouncing around my room in the early morning when it's not overcast.

This, of course, explains somewhat why these two have been spotted going back and forth recently:



I appear to have a breeding pair of LNRKs. Where will it end??

Giant Hot Cross Bun

I was inspired to whip out the breadmaker yesterday and make my favourite bready concoction - a sweet, moist and heavy curranted bread that is exactly like a huge hot cross bun, or teacake. The first one failed as the yeast was too old. It really should have been classified as an offensive weapon - I think it would be possible to beat someone to death with it!

The second one made with new yeast turned out much better - warmed slightly with unsalted butter and consumed with a mug of tea on the side.... mmmmmm.

Thing Of Cheer

I've been pretty miserable today as I've had to stay in for a collection and delivery that I'm convinced probably won't arrive, and my finger hurts as it's so swollen (I think I almost broke it yesterday). It's grey and drizzling and cold outside and I can't cycle as I doubt my ability to brake properly with my right hand.

So anything that's fun and makes me smile is welcome. Give The Sprout Game a try. I thought it was hysterical.
