Girls Only Holiday!

I love Swanage in Dorset. I had forgotten totally how much I like it, and I had forgotten quite how pretty it is. Here's my two favourite places - there are also many more that I am extremely fond of in the area.

We had torrential rain for the first day, and then brilliant sunshine and postcard-pretty sunsets for the rest of the (too few) days away. We stayed in a static caravan on the Priestway Caravan Park - a lovely, quiet site up on the hills above Swanage with wonderful views of both the bay and the Purbeck Hills. Here are the icons of the holiday:

The Fosters and the Baileys need no explanation, I assume. Draw your own conclusion. My Mum indoctrinated my sister and me into The Crazy Frog..... don't ask. We lit candles every evening and my Mum read to us from Gerald Durrell's "My Family And Other Animals" - a wonderful book. Yes, that is grass turf studded with daisies on top of the television, and a powder-blue owl is sitting on top of it. It's really far too difficult to explain - if enough people express interest, then I might make the effort.

Go to Swanage. I really recommend it for a relaxing time. It's unspoilt and not over-developed and is altogether charming.
