Giant Hot Cross Bun

I was inspired to whip out the breadmaker yesterday and make my favourite bready concoction - a sweet, moist and heavy curranted bread that is exactly like a huge hot cross bun, or teacake. The first one failed as the yeast was too old. It really should have been classified as an offensive weapon - I think it would be possible to beat someone to death with it!

The second one made with new yeast turned out much better - warmed slightly with unsalted butter and consumed with a mug of tea on the side.... mmmmmm.
